Dummy transfer case, which is a factory fitment in an "el-cheapo" 2WD-only Jimny, produced from 1998 to early 2000s.
The picture was taken from the left side of the vehicle. The upper higher connected propeller shaft goes toward the gear box, while the right lower connected propeller shaft goes toward the differential.
Notice some wires connected into the transfer case. They are probably just for the speedometer, as this transfer case has no variable nor selectable functions like a proper 4WD transfer case has.
