Szabi's Jimny was created by Szabek
After long long wait and hesitating between convertible vs normal Jimny, today I bought a 2006 JLX+ with 1 previous owner and 41k miles in the clock.
I got it from a dealer close to London. I taken it to a quite long test drive, even they let me to take it some muddy off road ride to test the 4X4 system.
Lovely little car, incredible smooth after my previous Ford. I am going to pick it up tomorrow.

Thanks Daniel,

Yep, I was surprised, when I was asking about to test the 4wd system and the sales guy told me to let's go and do some lovely mud covered tracks :woohoo:

Whoop whoop, tractor is at home :)

I picked it up today, had a good 35 miles drive to home, including narrow country lanes, motorway and city crawling in London.

Love it love it love it. I seen so many times, people were complaining about noise .... haha, get a Ford and after the Jimny is the quietest car on the planet. No death wobble, but little bit pulling to left side, I am pretty sure a wheel alignment is essential after a careful lady owner.

The shifting is so smooth, sometimes I am not sure I am in gear or not. Ok, clutch is much heavier than my Ford was. On the motorway was fine with 70mph, I am not in the rush... I see already it is a beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Now I am already planning the mods in my head...

Thanks Halford. Yep, the bullbar imitation surprised me as well. Managed to find out the handsfree set pin code...0000, now just the radio code left. Apparently the lady owner lost it. No trouble, my dad is an electric mechanic (fixing TVs, radios and other stuff), he has the system to crack the code.

PS: btw, you have an awesome looking dog!

Thanks! I love your blue one. This is my favourite colour, but unfortunately zero of them was for sale around London.

Anyway, I am going to change the colour some point, it will get a full repainting (inside-out) and repairing the few rusting area (nothing major, the biggest one is around the front lights, size of a 50 pence ) also a full under body protection.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationHi guys,

I need some help...
( I know this topic came up million times and I did the research, but still need to clarify a few things)

So I have a standard Jimny, no lift. I want to get rid off the alloy wheels and get some nice black steel rims on it.

Can I fit 215/75 tyres without lift? Any AT tyre recommendation? During the week the car is running on road and I would take her out for some light offered during weekends.

What is the maximum offset on rim, what I can fit without any mod? I was looking the following rims:

If I want to do 2" lift, which one is the easiest and cheapest option to start. I am dreaming about a TrailMaster kit, but in the current situation it is impossible... (got redundant, setting up new business...living on bread and water).

Many thanks for advance...

Looking good what wax did you use?
have you read the wiki section on tyres ?
I ran 205/75/15 on 15 x 7 modulars -30 offset and that rubbed just a couple of times when I went down a couple of large holes B)

It will also depend on what brand of tyre and if your going to run remoulds which normally end up being a different size to what they say they are
