hey there fellow jimnys. i have some 30mm spacers to add to my jimny after reading they can improve handing, but the same person who said about the snorkel( see my other post!) said it would put the tracking out massivley and i would need to fit longer track rod ends to adjust it up,?
this doesn't make sense to me as i would be just sitting the wheel out 30mm? ive looked through posts and not found anything any thoughts guys would be a help before i decide against fitting any of theses mods i have bought:S cheers liam.

You're right. It doesn't make any sense. So just fit those spacers and be happy. Just don't expect better handling. It's the same.

Naah, it's a "plug&play" kinda thing.. put the spacers and forget about them, no need to change anything else.

And you'r car does feel a more stable after widening the track by 6cm.

Right up until the wheel bearing fails because of the additional load it's not designed to accommodate. However you widen the track be it offset wheels or spacers it will reduce the life of the wheel bearings significantly.

Never had one go on me yet but it seems to depend on how you are using the car, road miles seems to be gradually, quarry bashing can be catastrophic though they do get noisy once tired, apparently.

I have had experience with very wide offset wheels on a SJ wich has more or less the same bearing setup. Front bearings go slowly but way faster than with original offset wheels. Rear original bearings went slow in the beginning, but faster when the play had started. With chinese aftermarket bearings it took 6 months and they did go out with a sudden and total breakdown.
Other conditions does play a large part as well like lubrication, load and of course your own style of driving.

It may improve stability offroad as cog is lowered a bit. But for on road driving there's no noticeable difference.
