Hi guys,
I'd like to paint my jimny, it's going to be a little awkward with the cage around it it'll be difficult to flat back properly etc, but what's the best paint?
I've got a decent home compressor and gravity fed gun, and obviously no oven.
I'd like to go for a bright red and the cage will be black.
I have 0 experience past spray cans, which I'm pretty good with now.
But have no idea on what type of paint to use, 2 pack, acrylic etc.

If you are painting at home i would recommend acrylic, as the waterborne tend to dry slow and can probably be a pain in the ass if you dont have the right conditions+then you need clearcoat also(acrylic is just to coats and youre done).
You should try spraying a loose piece first so you can learn the settings on the spraygun. Quick learning on youtube i.e The Gunman, he has some neat videos about settings on a gun and air pressure vs distance.
No problem spray painting, but how much you can put on before it turn into a river

Try rolling rustoleum combi colour , no mess or overspray, do it bit at a time, less masking off, very popular with vw campers and you can get a quality finish with a little practice. You could probably do a jimny for 50 quid and you can match any colour.
