Check Engine Light was created by Venter
Today my radiator hose split, noticed it as soon as the engine light went on, had to carry on driving about 2-3 miles to a garage.

Mechanic there replaced the pipe with one he fashioned from another vehicle's old hose (same diameter as Jimny one, almost identical) and sent me on my way, but the light stayed on. Is the light something that needs to be reset via the ECU following any work being done, or should it go off on its own?

I've given things a brief look over, and head gasket seems fine (no emulsion on oil cap), but obviously one doesn't know for sure without a compression test, etc.

Read the codes and go from there, it may just be coolant in a connection.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.
