What are peoples thoughts on steel bumpers there is one on eBay for £275 but unsure if it's worth it doesn't look as good as the higher priced ones

Personally I think there are tidier ways of mounting a winch though maybe not a strong for plowing the front end through a swampy bog.

I have the largest ever steel bumper, it is too large and too heavy. Much of the expense on the car (shocks, springs, bearings) is probably related to the weight it carries.

If I was building a Jimny from scratch it would be as light as possible.

However I have no choice as it came installed on the Jimny and major surgery has been done to the front rails to accommodate it.

If there's was a simple (minimalist) steel tube bumper, front and back, for the Jimny I'd be on it like a shot. Seen loads for landys and SJ's, but nothing off-the-shelf for Jimnys except the huge and heavy ones.
