It's a shame as it does them no favours to get a rep like that but behind headlights and some other parts are well known rust spots. My Celerio is terrible from the point of view of being minimally protected.

Do it right - use Hammerite

Rust is annoying, but you've got to remember we are talking about cheap, cheap cars here. Most of our Jimnys cost less than £10k new! If they get to around 15 years old before rust becomes a major issue I don't think that's too bad. Look at some of the issues other vehicles of a similar age have (Navaras snapping in half, anything with Renaults 1.5DCI needing prohibitively expensive injectors, Ford semi-auto gearbox failures). A bit of rust on a bargain basement 4x4 seems quite alright.

Actually the car is superb but as food for tinworm it is terrible.
Makes me wish it was made out of plastic like part of Freelanders are.

Do it right - use Hammerite
