Engine light stays on was created by Tanya
Hi, I have a 2002 Jimny and the engine light stays on and has a dead spot until engine is warm. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what the problem might be? Cheers

If you want a wild guess, the pre-cat oxygen sensor in the manifold is quite a common fail that leaves the engine running.

You really need to get the fault codes read. If it is a timing chain engine, the £10 eBay specials work.
If it has a cam belt, have a search for how to make the eml flash the fault code out- there is a wire link you add somewhere.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)
