That's great so would you say 10/30 fully synthetic is best option then

Don't think you need full synthetic but I'm not an expert hopefully someone will confirm what you will need

Have a look on eBay for oil. Just picked up 5 litres of Shell Helix semi synthetic for less than £20 delivered
291483415330 Is the eBay number
It's perfectly adequate for the Jimny
You don't need a full synthetic, especially if you do regular oil changes ( mine gets that every 5k with a genuine Suzuki oil filter)
Synthetics oils are best suited to high performance engines and the Jimny is hardly that

If in doubt ...... Flat out ??

That's a good find. I was looking at some Castrol Edge for my Civic yesterday and it
was nearly £50 for 4 litres. :(

My Jimny is a Y reg twin cam and I've always used Halfords 10W 40 part synthetic with no problems. I change the oil yearly and drive about 10k miles per year.

I think Halfords stuff is rebranded Comma oils.
Might meet the spec etc but I'm not a fan of the stuff. Keep hearing mixed reviews. Rather stick with tried and trusted brands.
I'm a big believer in regular oil changes. Even though modern LL04 oils like the BM has and oil changes at 18k ,it's just far too long which is why the Jim and BM get done every 5k. The BM does get Castrol Edge full synthetic though as its a turbo diesel.
Suppose it's a buy product of fixing high performance expensive motorcycles for a living lol

If in doubt ...... Flat out ??

I've used Halfords (Comma) oil for years in many cars with good results and no issues. In the case of the Jimny it's been run on 10w40 semi for years but currently has 5w30 fully synthetic in it as I had some left over from another car I sold and it's quite happy on it.

Mine is a 2000 X plate twin cam.

I don't see why not. It fits in the grades specified by Suzuki in their manual I believe but don't have a vvt and as vvt often works on oil pressure I'd check the manual.
