gearbox problems

gearbox problems was created by bari
problem selecting first gear,its as though ter is no first gear you can select all the other gears but it feels as though there is no slot for first gear.its not clutch clearence, it feels as though it is a selector fork problem somtimes if you shake the stick you can get first gear has anyone exsperenced this.

this is in it a while but has recently gottn worse, i have changed the clutch recently but it didnt solve it.

thanks steve for your help again i was try to avoyed that but time will tell,sorry aniesigh but i live in ireland so it will cost me to much to get it deliverd.

Hello Bari, I had the same problem last year. Gearbox repair shop (outside Belfast) fixed it. Needed to buy a couple of bearings from Suzuki as they are apparently OEM items only.

When you have this issue, drop it into Reverse, then try 1st again.

It often re-aligns the mesh and solves the problem

thanks wb i might try that or probly just pput in a diesel engine and gearbox,when it dosnt go in i try puting into all the gears to try get in in but if i try for 10 mins trough all the gears it eventually gos in.
