These videos are great, thanks for taking the time to produce them.
The springs on ours are about the only bit that does not make a noise, but watched with interest assuming one day the springs will join in.
One question, is it only needed on the bottom of the spring ?

Yes, it's where the coil rubs on the retention cone/bump stop seat.
