Tow bar GEN4 help was created by Foxtrot
Has anyone got the official Suzuki towbar on their GEN4, if so does it have a buzzer on it when your indicating to tell you that the electrics are plumbed in to your trailer?
I have had an after market towbar fitted which has got to come off as it sits too far under the spare tyre to attach my caravan hitch or my bike rack, the electrics don't buzz when indicating either. Its made by Brink so avoid it like the plague..

I thought the buzzer was a legal requirement?

See what you mean, its a little "under the vehicle".
Not sure why its got no indicator "tell tale", they may have used a straight splice connection or you have LED bulbs with no correction resistors in your trailer board. You can get repeater type universal electric kits that buzz or fit a buzzer module, they are very cheap.

As Soley said, a "tell tail" light or buzzer is a UK legal requirement.

Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)

A manufacturer can opt to integrate the tell-tail of the trailer with the towing vehicle's light control system, so maybe you need to look for bulb failure indicator on the Jimny rather than a buzzer???

I thought that as well, apparently if they are not working the speed of the indicator will alter, so I was told by the towbar specialist.
I also found this bit of info below:
"You don't need an audible or visual warning that the indicators work, only when they are not working."

The aftermarket tow bar made by Brink proved useless with a caravan ALKO hitch, I would assume it's ok for a bog standard trailer hitch. The Local tow bar centre was very good and changed it out for the official Suzuki towbar which is substantially longer. This one looks like it will shatter my shins if I leave it on..:cheer:

Also - if memory serves me - the indicator lights on the Jimny do not light up when a trailer / caravan attached. Reason is that they might reflect into the cars interior if still functioning.

Looks good.

Hopefully it would also shatter the front bumper of any car that shunted you from behind in traffic.
