Tow bar GEN4 was created by Foxtrot
I am trying to get a tow bar fitted to my Gen4, the dealership doesn't fit detachable tow bars? I have contacted specialist tow bar fitters and they seem to use the Brink tow bar but it will need the bumper to have a cut to accommodate it.

Has anyone got a Brink detachable tow bar and is it easy to attach and take off?

The genuine Suzuki part is detachable so heaven knows what your dealer is on about. Why not buy something you like the look of and fit in yourself? Towbars are generally very easy to fit, only the wiring pack (if you need it) will take a little more effort. Chris

The genuine Suzuki tow bracket uses a detachable swan neck because a fitted ball would partially obscure the number plate. The swan neck is also very long so that it hangs out past the spare wheel. The Suzuki wiring loom uses a 13 wire system so be prepared to modify the connection to whatever you are towing if needed. This loom requires a power supply so Suzuki technicians take this from the fuse box in the passenger footwell. The tow bracket and wiring loom are sold separately so you could make up your own loom if you so wish. That way you could stick to the 7 pin system.

Thanks for the info Roger, it's very useful, I don't think I am up to fitting it myself. I have had this problem before with this dealership..

Hi Foxtrot.

Obviously I don't know your technical ability and as the dealership fitting charge is only £66.00, then for peace of mind that is the logical way to go. Also you would need axle stands and a helper to slot it into position.

On the other hand if you want to DIY then there are plenty of people here to offer advice.

Yes, it is expensive and if you then add on the Suzuki bike rack, that's another £400.
But, a quick google and hey presto £117.00 for the bar and fitting does not require a degree in DIY.
It's another option.
