Clarion radio display colour - 2005 vintage was created by cinimodr
Jimny generation 3 version 5 (2005).
Is it possible to change the display colour for the radio - currently it's a garish reddy-orange colour - which contrasts strongly with the main instrument panel behind the steering wheel which is grey-white.
Thinking about it it's not just the clarion because the 4WD and ventilation buttons etc are lit up red too.
There's no model no on the radio itself and the manual is for a PS-2685/2599 - but it is different as mine has a DISP button for instance which is not shown in the manual. Very confusing, but i did work out how to set the clock at least thanks to someone on this forum!
Any thoughts welcome
cheers Dominic

Hi Dominic,
Not aware you can change the Clarion display from "red/Orange", as you say it's the tip of the iceberg as everything else in the centre console is the same colour.
You can fit an aftermarket head unit, I have a Sony which allows you to select the display colour. Luckily for me it has a colour that matches the "red/orange" (I like the retro look), but it has plenty of other colours even the white of the main panel.

You are doing well to have your clarion still work and not chewing CDs. Do yourself and your ears a favour and swap it for one of the many aftermarket alternatives, they are not expensive and have things like bluetooth etc.

Yes, thank you - I feared that might be the answer!
Learn to live with the retro look I guess - changing the unit might be fun, but maybe another time. This Jimny's mainly for getting up the steep and muddy back lanes to our sheep who don't yet have access to bluetooth!!
