Steering rod movement was created by Blackout
Hey all, I have noticed my steering rod is moving. The damper bracket has dropped forward I can push it and the rod is moving. I have no idea what I should do to correct this / what needs replacing / tightening. Any advice ? Thanks

Rotating on the ball joints is acceptable. Lateral movement in the long axis is a problem. If you put the front axle in the air at attempt to move the steering by grasping the road wheel at a 3 o'clock position it should move freely and you shouldn't be able to feel any free play or slack as the wheel you are holding moves the opposite one. If you can feel a clunk as you start to move the wheel that is a failing track rod end. They are a simple enough job to replace assuming they come undone without a fight.
