Same problem on my Jimny 2019. It was repaired under warranty, but returned later with minor intensity. Problem was transfer case chain

I also have it.

Sounds more like a heavy mechanical whine.

I have a reasonably steep driveway and hear it when I drive up in first gear. The sound is harder when I give it more petrol...

So 6 weeks later, the parts have finally arrived. Dropped off the Jimny yesterday. Will get it back in 4 days time.

I'll update once I get it back.

So. It’s been 4 days and about 200km of stop start driving around town.

All quiet. In fact driving in general is much quieter and smoother. The transfer chain was clearly making more noise than just the grrr sound at take off.

No oil leeks. (I see Suzuki shipped a plug and nut as part of the repair kit).

Attached is a copy of the workshop repair doc and parts list.

Touch wood this is the end.

Just sharing my experience. I had mine back at the dealer to replace the noisy parts. I have done 700km since. The noise is completely gone. Also generally the Jimny is a lot quieter now. It seems that a lot of cruising noise was also coming from the transfer gearbox, like a whining noise that now has been reduced significantly.

What mileage is yours on? Ours is silent, but it's only done 3,500
Although with over two years left on the warranty l am not unduly worried.

8000km on the clock. The noise started roughly when I had 4000km, so close to your mileage as you are on miles.
But it was generally noisy ( regarding the cruising noise) from day one.

The weird noise that appears when you try to pull hard on the first gear, e.g. when you try to ascend a hill, drove me to the dealer and by solving that issue the Jimny became also generally quieter.

I have changed the chain and it still makes noise. Now I have changed the transfer for a new one and makes noise too ...
