AVO Suspension Opinions

Looking at purchasing a new lift kit. Tempted to splurge on the AVO's. I have read some good reviews here and some bad reviews on other sites. Does anyone have any longterm opinions on the AVO's. I will be using them for pretty tough off roading (SAE). Also i have read that the black raptor adjustables are identical just rebadged. is this true and does anyone know if AVO rebuild them if broken?

Pretty sure they are the same part but badged as black raptor.

Send jimnybits a question about the warranty rebuilding, they are about the only ones who will know.

Ive had +5" AVOs on for about 2 years now and love them. Easy to adjust, slimmer shock body (no catching the rear panhard bracket like most others), well built. Paint is starting to wear off a little from the boot sliding over them, but they havent turned all rusty which leads me to think they are alloy of some sort rather than cheap steel body's. Bushes are poly and lasting well also.

I really do give them some stick as well when out greenlaning

I have had AVO for a year or so and have nothing bad to say about them. I have had a failure (due to postal damage) and the way the replacement was handled was excellent. I am yet to find something they can't cope with.....

If you are thinking about a lift kit, look at the JB black raptor adjustable 2" kit, look at the dampers...... They are made for JB by AVO and are cheap in comparison..... It is the AVO damper in silver paint.

Adjustable damping is a big help with suspension mods.

Did you ever hear anything back from Jimny bits?

Not so sure about the Raptor stuff being AVO now... ....

Just seen them on a car next to mine, very similar but just different enough to make you think that they could be from Gaz too......

(still happy with the AVO's and now know a few more quite serious off road drivers who use them & are happy)
