Tyres for standard rims? was created by Jedzuki
Hi, is it OK to put 215 tyres on the standard 5.5" rims? Or should I stick to 195/205 sizes?

No problem, you can use even bigger tyre than 215 on stock rims.

They are only a finger's width wider than standard, so no problem at all.

Mraz, like 235? But from reading this site, it seems 235/75r15s will cause some issues of trimming, etc. Is that so?

The one I'm getting is an auto. Is that gearing mess-up still the same?

Yeah but your question was "Will they fit on standard rims" and they will no problem. Will they fit on your Jimny is a different matter

An auto will cope with larger tires but the torque converter will be working hard and could do with a big cooler.
