Is there a way to program the keys for a 2007 Jimny. ie immobiliser+ the central locking.

The key has a little chip in it with a unique number and you need the Suzuki kit to tell the car that a key should start the car. Oherwise go to Timpsons and they will kut a key for you and copy the unique number of a proper key to the copied key cost £35 but will take a few days to get in stock.

If you have the key with the remote in it then to programme the remote you need to go over the instructions available online to teach it to the car. the instructions have a mistake in them.

You still need to use the Suzuki kit to tell that key to start the car.

Unlike in some other cars if you lock the car with a remote you can unlock the door it with the key. Not in my MK3 MX5 or Impreza without the alarm going off.

I think that there is a sequence for the remote locking. The key can be matched using the Suzuki kit, some locksmiths tools or using an SDL interface.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

I know that I have the Suzuki service supplement covering my 2002 remote key code procedure (if that the same), just need to find it. Should have been with the manual will have another rummage ASAP.

The only benefit of age is experience.

Ok this worked for me on a 2002 model, important bit is leave drivers window open.

RG413, RG415 & SN413 (Japanese built Ignis &Jimny Models)

Transmitter Code Registration Procedure

If transmitter or door lock controller is replaced with a new one, register key code as follows:

1. Confirm that the vehicle is in the following condition.
* All doors are closed
* Ignition key is out of ignition switch
* Driver side door is unlocked and its window is open.

2. Disconnect negative (-) cable from battery.

3. After 30 seconds, perform the following procedure within 60 seconds.

a) Connect negative (-) cable to battery
b) Operate drive side door lock button (1) from lock to unlock twice
c) Push 'LOCK' button on transmitter and confirm that all doors cycle from unlock/lock/unlock
d) Push driver side door lock button to 'LOCK' position
e) Push 'LOCK' button on transmitter twice and confirm that all doors cycle from unlock/lock/unlock

With this, code registration is completed.

NOTE:

* Two transmitter codes can be registered at the same time
* When the third transmitter code is registered, the oldest one will be cleared automatically

The only benefit of age is experience.

For a 2007 reg you'll need to take it and all keys you want to work the car to a Suzuki dealer it's done through the Suzuki computer and clears all keys then re loads the data back to the keys(assuming you have the key with lock and unlock buttons on it)

I decided to continue in this topic instead of making a new one, as I believe that I have a similar situation.

It is a petrol Jimny made in 2013 in Japan (type 9 model).

It originally had a standard key (no buttons on it) plus a separate remote controller for remote central locking of all vehicle's doors.

Well that remote controller thingy got lost.

Now the car can be (un)locked only by putting the key in a door lock, like in an old vehicle.


So, there are now two questions:
1. Where to obtain another remote controller (Suzuki dealers ask a high price ...)? Perhaps from a vehicle junkyard, or new aftermarket of the same quality?
2. How to program the new remote controller to the car?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationDont know about programming it (auto electrical specialist?) but the key is easy to get:


J999 MNY, ULYSSES M18 VVT with ITB's Dyno tested at 130hp

Pickup/tipper, R7me gearbox & 6.4 Rocklobster, 31" Toyo MT, 2x ARB air locker 3.9 diffs in braced axles, 6" total lift, Floating rear conversion, Raptor painted, CB, Recaro's, Caged, etc, etc...

I bought this or a similar item. It works and I can program my excisting keys in my 2005 jimny.
You will need the correct immo chips to program it to your car.

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.

remember that not all Jimnys have the reciever for the remote so on my car i could not program a remote even though the car data from suzuki said i could.

This has me a little confused because if you don't have the receiver then can't you simply use a non coded key?

Do it right - use Hammerite

The programmer is used for the immo chip, the small one below the key on the picture of the key above here.
There is an antenna/signal booster near the ignition key and your key (chip) have to be programmed to the ECU.
The reciever for the remote lock/unlock button sender is a different thing and not all jimnys have it.
I tried to use a key remote like the one above here but there is no reciever on my car.
I have installed an aftermarket reciever/key sender hooked up to the wiring for the buttons in the door.
