your not meant to select 4L when the vehicles in motion, clearly states that in the manual and on the back of the sun visor!! Going from 2h to 4h is fine upto 60mph aslong as the wheels are straight.

It's one of the many reasons I jump back in the Pajero as soon as I get the chance.

Do it right - use Hammerite
When the blue light is flashing I am kidding.

as is written in the Jimny Manual

- front wheels pointing straight ahead
- complete standstill
- depress the clutch pedal fully (or it won't work)

if the light continues blinking try moving the vehicle slowly back and forth a few feet while the 4L light blinks

and if it still doesn't work, I'll be popping over to Hastiekids :woohoo:

I would imagine you put the selector in N (assuming you wanted a serious answer ;) ) and there will be an input to the ecu from the auto gearbox.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Thanks for all the advice guys, special thanks must go to Ian as lot of good tips there re the transfer box. Didn't manage to get online last night or would have posted to say I got it working on Fri morning so probably a dodgy connection. First chance I get I'll get underneath and check them out.
