The Y61 axles have diff Lock in the rear diff, not sure about the front one.
But as far as I know, 80 series axles are just as wide as the Y61 axles.

About rite yes only in the rear of the Datsun axle 80 have front and rear :)

I believe they are called Nissan nowadays :P B)

No one here has discussed the option of just upgrading the jimny axels?

Surely buying a set of chromoly axels, rear disc break upgrade and arbs lockers would be a feasable option. Maybe not for massive tyres. But would this setup not be sufficient for 31s to 33s?

Not sure how it would compare cost wise to fitting 70 series axels?

Just thought I would pose the question?

The problem with Jimny axles isn't that the internal components are particularly weak but the actual axle cases are prone to snapping at the tube/pumpkin weld unless they have been braced. The next weakness is the front cv joints, then it is the wheel bearings that are plenty small enough. Yes it is possible to build a super strong axle but the cost is going to be up with alternative axles like the Toyota.
