Hi Folks

Sorry to ask this (probably again as I am sure this has been covered but I can't find it) but is there a way to fold the rear seats of a gen 4 flat or can they be removed and the floor made flat?

Something the same as the commercial version would do me nicely but in ?

Sorry again and thanks in advance.he car

Gen 4 rear seats do fold flat. Just pull the toggle on top of the seats and they fold flat. Is your car an SZ4 or SZ5?

They don't actually fold flat, there's a space behind them that is lower than the back of the seat, if you have the optional storage bin that fits behind the seats, then you'll get a flat floor.

They do fold flat, see this video. You can see a very slight rise to the front but that is simply the cushion not pushed 100% flat (this was a brand new Jimny, fresh out of its wrapping). In fact you can also fold the front seats flat as well to get an entire bed space with some fiddling around.

As mentioned, the SZ5 (UK) model comes with a bin to create the full flat floor. I seem to recall the SX4 model did not come with this bin as standard.

As already mentioned above the O/P probably doesn't have the storage bin at the back, should be easy enough to get one and then the floor will be flat with the seats folded.

GeordieJimny has a good write up on how to fold the front seats down and make it completely flat to sleep in.

It would be an SZ5 thanks.

Our 2020 SZ5 rear seats fold down and make a completely flat floor. ln fact we've got the rubber load liner and rarely fold the rear seats up.
