It's great that they've not only extended the chassis to provide a useful sized load area, but also upgraded the suspension, brakes and done the IVA test to allow it to legally and safely carry a useful load (500kg). The workmanship and attention to detail looks spot on too.

Better still they've found an additional 750kg of legal towing capacity. That's really very interesting.

I read it as maximum 750kg towing capacity, so 550kg less than the standard vehicle, presumably as a pay off for the extra payload?

I read it as an additional 750 so 2050 total, I assume as a consequence of the long wheel base heavier suspension and brake upgrades. Might send an email to confirm.

"Yomper has an impressive 500kgs load capacity on or off road. Plus an impressive addtional 750kgs towing capability."
I see what you mean. But I don't think they are talking in the context of additional to the vehicle on which it is based. A 2t towing capacity would be quite a boast!

500kg + 750kg = Jimny kerb weight..... No increase in towing ability....

As I looked at the car, the wheelbase is as standard, the chassis may have been extended to suit an increase in the load area.....

Terry Lofley did a chassis extension that extended the wheelbase to 90" using custom arms...

Towing capacity is not the same as kerbweight. It would seem that they have stuck to the same gross train weight (GWT), so some towing capacity has been sacrificed for extra payload.
There are 2 different Yomper models- the 225 and 275,. The 275 has an extended chassis and 2.75m/108" wheelbase. The 225 has a standard Jimny wheelbase of 2.25m, or 88.6". Terry added a lot more than 1.6", I suspect his one is at least 100".

hi guys
the yomper looks fantastic and me and Reece have been pondering over doing a full body pickup for some time as we love the flush rear standard body look, but these guys have perfected the look of there's
just to clarify my first pick up was extended on the chassis and the rear axle refitted 300mm further back, it drove fantastic, with  a normal car feel to it  and reduced the the skipping as they do have, but was not too long as to spoil the 4x4 feel when off road, this was well worth the time and effort.
