Rattle from dash (JB74/Gen 4)

Wondering if anyone else has had this, recently I've noticed an annoying rattle vibration from the dash. It sounds like it is directly ahead of the driver, but I've not yet been able to trace it by touching or holding parts of the dash.

It happens in all gears from approx 1500 thru 1750rpm, so if you are driving gently, one that you get quite a lot. On hills it is worse as you can labour the engine at those revs.

I've also noticed that occasionally at ~3000rpm there is a similar noise, but this seems less common on its occurrence.

My Gen 3 rattled from the dash, there are 3 little plastic covers at the front (near to the windscreen) and underneath is a bolt. All three were loose on my Gen 3. See post www.bigjimny.com/index.php/forum/7-jimny...dashboard-on-a-gen-3

I tightened them and someone on here said put them in with Loctite as they will come loose again. They have and they are now in with a dab of Loctite.

The Gen 4 might be the same, looks like it has plastic circular caps over the bolts.

Yes it's worth a look +1
As a direct result of DrRobins early post (link above) I checked mine, and yes loose.
Did them up with some loctite and that's one annoying rattle gone away.
Others have reported the same issue, so on a G3 it's a common dash rattle source.

Hi, just wondering if you managed to sort this out? I’m experiencing the same issue with my car. Crazy buzzing sound from the dash when accelerating under load

The dealer said they took the dash out and put it back but couldn’t find anything. No idea what they actually did. The noise has mostly gone but not completely however. It’s at a point where it doesn’t currently bother me like it did before. So I guess they must have done something or tightened something down with whatever they did.

I found mine makes annoying buzzing sound up by the sensor box at the top of the windscreen. It seems to come and go though. If you press your hand against it whilst driving you can hear it stop.
