Hello Jimny lovers,

I want a simple or plug and play upgraded head unit for my 2021 Jimny JB74. I would like to the have minimum Apple Carplay, support 4G/3G/wifi hotspot, DAB+, OBD2, TPMS. Whats the best option avalable on the market.

l don't think it's that simple, as the head unit is integrated into the vehicle and not just a plug and play device.
I am ready to be proven wrong though. ls
yours an SZ4 or SZ5?

I am also looking to upgrade the std radio and have been doing some online research.
I found this site offers a kit and includes some excellent videos.

Ars24

I am hoping someone on here with a very shiny new Jimny LCV may soon be posting a similar howto video and offering a similar kit on the BigJimny store.

It's partially plug and play as far as I can tell.

There are some missing signals such as GPS and rear speaker connections and there is some interaction with the e-call unit that needs working out.

Ah you are talking about the Jimny Commercial.

What's the chances of fitting the SZ5 media unit into an SZ4?

It's not a fascia on the SZ5, the surround is integrated into the head unit. Connects2 sell a double din fascia (part # CT23SZ21).

I've replaced the standard HU in my 2019 SZ5 and if you want to retain steering wheel controls, USB port connection, DAB and OEM rear camera, you need the following adapters in addition to the fascia. If you don't have steering wheel controls there's a different adapter and obviously only get the camera interface if you have a Suzuki camera!

All Connects2 parts, ordered from dynamicsounds.co.uk.

CT27AA88 Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kizashi, Swift, SX4 S Cross DIN Antenna Aerial Adaptor

CAM-SZ1-RT Suzuki Ignis, Swift Reverse Camera Retention Interface

CTSSZ003.2 Suzuki Swift, Ignis Steering Wheel Control Stalk Interface Adaptor -

CT27AA180 In Car DAB Digital Radio Aerial Antenna Adapter Fakra to SMB

There aren't adapters that I could find to re-use the OEM GPS or Microphone. My head unit came with additional GPS puck (fitted inside dashboard with sticky pad) and mic (fitted inside trim around front camera module at top of windscreen).

With all that lot you end up with.....

Any questions just ask.

I have a Sony XAV-AV1000DB in another vehicle and want to try and install it in the Jimny.   I have found it to be very good for Carplay and the audio output is excellent.  If i can get it mounted and all the spaghetti at the back wired up I will post my parts lst and pics.

Gadget, does the Connects2 fascia include any support brackets?

No it's just the fascia, the brackets used to secure the stock head unit can be unscrewed and attached to the new one.
