Love the idea of Jimny lite, steel rims, no touchscreen, less frilly bits, just a shame we won't be getting it.....

That sounds exactly the same spec as the SZ4 that the UK got, and which is the version the commercial is based ion (minus 2 seats).

Yep, that's just a SZ4 which the UK did have. Still has all the annoying electronic driver 'aids' sadly. The touchscreen is one of the bits of electronics which is actually really good in the Jimny!

The SZ4 has fog lights that are omitted on the Jimny Lite.
I'm so glad my SZ4 is not referred to as a Jimny Lite. It sounds like some kind of insipid beer or low fat margarine.

If we do get it, it will be in short supply, so the dealers will bump up the price by adding every extra they can and you will be back to a standard Jimny.

In South Africa we get two specs, a low spec GA and a high spec GLX. It looks like the Lite is going to be similar to our low spec, except we don't get any of the safety nannies - 2 Airbags and that is it.

Our low spec has:

Halogen headlamps
No fog lights
Manually adjustable side mirrors
Window winders
Manual aircon
No radio
No steering wheel controls
