Interesting to read your observations. I've been running my Jimnys without ARBs for a few years now and see no need to go back. As you already alluded to earlier on, one characteristic of the disconnect kits if you effectively stiffen the ARB when you attach a bigger diameter tube to a significant portion of it. This reduces the length of the springy bit. This will have exacerbated all the negative things you noticed when re-fitting the standard springs.

Regarding the lean, it is best dealt with by adjusting spring lengths (fit longer springs or cut down existing springs) or fitting spacers. Shocks dampen spring movement but do not carry load, so will have no affect on the body lean. Re-locating the battery is the only weight re-distribution I'd consider. Adding weight is counter productive in most situations.

Regarding the side to side sway described up here, I had this on my SJ years and years ago. Not directly comparable as it was leaf sprung, but still. Driving to a offroad event, a Friend and me had stuffed the back of the car pretty full of spare parts and camping gear. After driving for a couple of hours we reached the civilization and the highway. When I got the 85 SJ up to 90+ kmh it started to roll from side to side uncontollably. The car still went straight but had to slow down to 20 to stop the rolling. It had soft Springs, weak dampers (from a corsa) was lifted
Both body lift and ome Springs, had 31x12.5 tyresand had no swaybar! I had forgotten to put the bar back on after the last local event.
Borrowed a bar at the event so the return trip was uneventful at 100kmh.

So Busta are you saying dont fit an ARB if you have one and just run the Jimny with the ARB removed. The other question I have is "do it after the MOT" right?

Yes, that is my preference.
Re. MOT, it is a fail to not have one fitted where it was fitted from the factory. This relies on the MOT tester knowing that there was originally one fitted. To date I've not had a problem with that, or heard of anyone else having any trouble. I definitely wouldn't bother re-fitting for every MOT, but you should bear in mind there is always a chance they will notice and then you will need to re-fit it to pass.
