I just cracked, and put my reg into WBAC- £28,000!

It cost me £19,649 in May 2019..........

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Yep, that's what they offer. £28,250 for our 6,000 mile 2020 SZ5
But l seriously doubt they will actually give you that figure, if you take the car to their local office.
You can buy 2019 Jimnys retail for less than that, so no dealer is going to pay over £28,000 trade.
And then there's WBAC's markup. lf they gave you (or me) £28,000 it would have to retail for around £32,000.

My guess is that it's to tempt you into taking it for a proper valuation with them.
Values are on a high though, l would think they will offer close to £25,000

I know, but I was curious.

I don't want to sell, where can I get another?

I'm worried that I'm underinsured now, and it looks like I wasted my money on the GAP insurance.......

I have been reading through this and wondering what everyone paid new.
This is crazy to me.

I have the GA (base model) spec, which in South Africa is very sparse.
No central locking, no electric windows, no fog lights and no radio but I paid R260,000.00 new in November 2018 which at today's exchange rate is GBP 12,706 and some change.

Mine has increased in value here, but not to THAT extent.
I would guess because they're still readily available whilst you guys had the "discontinuation" while they work on the 'commercial' version?

I wouldn't sell my Jimny for love or money. I hope it's the last car I ever own (idealistic I know).

lt's because the U.K. is a generally affluent country and people have the money to spend on what they want.

Plus the Covid pandemic has left people in many cases with extra cash.
No holidays or other expenditures.

A lot of my friends in business have had literally tens of thousands of pounds in govt grants over the last 18 months.
There's been a surge in price of most luxury goods, classic cars, motorcycles, ebikes, etc

I would agree that your more stable pricing is likely due to South Africa continuing to import. I haven't seen any flipping for profit here in the Philippines and don't believe I will. At least once a day a dealer's Jimny advertisement shows up on our club's Facebook page. More often it is 2 or 3 times a day. Unless something happens to supply, used Jimnys will be sold at a used car value here.

I started out with nothing & still have most of it left

Suzuki have withdrawn the Jimny from sale in Europe due to emissions.
Can you still get the 4-seater version in SA?

Yes, we can indeed with no signs of them limiting supply as yet.
Our emissions requirements are far less stringent than the EU.

Looking on Autotrader today, it seems that prices have fallen a little, there's a lot of Jimnys for sale at the moment.
The going rate for a near new one seems to have fallen from £30,000 to £26-28,000

lt had to happen eventually, l doubt that many people were paying those prices, plus they've started coming off their three year PCP agreements so there's a lot for sale.

The £36k one at Exeter and the £30k one in Leeds have sold this week, and just today there seems to have been quite a few added at £30k+. But then a lot of the vans have been sitting around at £25k since they arrived.
