After owning LR Defenders for years and now over 65 years old, we are looking to down size for a smaller off roader. Have never driven a Jimny but looking to test drive one next week. Could you guy's give your opinion on the following.
The price for a nearly new model is £24 / £26 K which appears to high compared to the original list price. Is £23000 the ball park price ?
What is the underbody protection against rust like ? A local LR specialist says he has had three new Jimny's in for Dinatrol protection as there appears to be bare metal on the under body,
What are the servicing prices like ?
Finally looking at the brochure they appears to be a green version. but have never seen one for sale.

Jimny is very much like a small Defender, so you should like the driving experience. Great fun, should put a smile on your face.
Prices for the GEN4 are high, you will pay well over Suzuki list for a dealer registered example. Shop around, but the figures you have quoted seem about correct. Private sales may be a cheaper option with Suzuki warranty still valid.
Under dbody protection appears no better than the generation before, that means it's poor by modern car standards. It's not going to rot overnight, but it's possible to see surface rust within the year. At 24k do you want to risk it, so some underbody protection is a good idea if it's a keeper.
Servicing cheap and very easy to DIY. It's got to be one of the cheapest even at a garage, but dealers will cost more like any other manufacturer. I DIY my GEN3 and only spend about £40-50 in parts when I change all filters, fluids and plugs.
Don't think the UK gets the green version which is a pity, quite like the colour myself.
Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)

Prices are a bit oddball. At list price the Jimny was cracking value IMO. Despite the fact it was slightly more expensive than the model lit replaced. However there does seem to have been a big movement to loving proper 4x4's in the past few years in the UK. And car prices in general seem to be a bit crazy.
Sadly, this means the price is what it is. Compared to something like a Fiesta ST the Jimny does perhaps seem pricey. But compare it to any other 'proper' 4x4 and there is very little choice. A Wrangler starts at £46k for example. And even a decent spec quad cab pickup will likely set you back £30-35k.
Not sure if my local dealer still has it. But there was a silver SZ4 spec for £19.5k on a 19 or 68 plate. Don't know mileage though.
But that is still quite a markup from RRP.
The SZ5 is IMO worth the money for the extra bits you get.
As for underbody, there is no bear metal at all. However they have the same protection as other Japanese cars underneath. And probably not all that different to most new cars I'd have thought. So certainly room for improvement.
I used Dinitrol on mine. If you are able to get under the vehicle, it is quite easy to apply yourself with aerosol cans.
The forrest Green colour hasn't been imported to the UK as far as I know.
BTW - I come from a Land Rover world too. The Jimny drives a bit like a late Puma model Defender. Just a bit more compact. And no leaks!

l would wholeheartedly recommend the Jimny, as already said it's like a small Defender but much more refined, quieter, much cheaper to run and very well made. While l
like doing work on the Land Rover it's nice to have a vehicle that needs nothing except washing and vacuuming out!
Rust protection on the Jimny seems good but you can always get it treated if you are worried about it.
The Jimny is also great fun to drive and much less likely to get stolen.
Not that l don't love my 110, she's definitely staying!
Prices of the Jimny are high but looking in Auto Trader l found some nearer £20,000
Don't forget the residuals will likely be much better than an ordinary car, so even at £24,000 it makes much better financial sense than a regular car.

Get it on some poor surface A roads, it's about as bad as a Jimny will get in the comfort department. It's light weight and short wheelbase can make it feel a little "jiggly" on these surfaces at speeds above 40mph. Of course this just my opinion, but often overlooked in favour of blasting down the motorway or a 30mph drive around a town centre.
You should feel at home in it with your Defender background, plenty on here own Land Rovers as well (1960 S2), the Jimny is a perfect run around.

There seems to be several things that wear out quickly, but in comparison to a defender it is probably no worse, maybe slightly better.
Prices for a Gen 4 are high at the moment, ever since a supply issue and then withdrawal from the UK market.
