Going from a Defender to a Jimny

Interesting observations!
I like the idea of a new Jimny as it’s basically a smaller, new Defender without the maintenance costs.

However l will say that my experience with Defenders hasn’t been as bad as the above recollections.
I’ve tried the TDCi Defenders and don’t like them, not really sure why, perhaps it’s because you tend to compare them to more modern vehicles.

My 2005 110 TD5 has actually been the most reliable vehicle l’ve owned. It doesn’t leak, (although stopping the leaks took some time)
And has never broken down. Also at 15 years old the body and chassis are rust free (due to the application of untold tins of ACF50 over the years)
Extra soundproofing means it’s OK on the motorway as well.
