So if it is still avaliable in RHD in other markets what's the chance of personal imports being the best way forward. With the premium that people are asking on nearly new being anything up to £5K how much would shipping, VAT etc. add to an import. Will some of the Japanese market importers pick up on this?

As I mentioned, Australia is still getting them (RHD). The problem is that the last I heard their import numbers are fairly limited. I'm not sure how easy it would be to get one. Japan still has them too. I have no idea what cost or legalities would be to get them into the UK.
Probably would cost less to buy a G Wagon.

Thanks for putting this up. Its quite nice in a small SUV kind of way. Must have a drive of one when they are out as I am looking for an EV or plugin Hybrid for our next shopping run around.

This re badged RAV 4, seems interesting ...we have a 07 RAV 4,as well as the Jimny which is a nice enough . But ...
The Suzuki 4 grip system is different to the RAV system and uncouples itself at around 25 mph which is no big issue but when worn the actuator gives an almighty clunk ! When you set off it is in 4wd anyway up to 25ish mph ...Not all RAV 4 are 4wd ...so how is it a RAV4?
Would Suzuki fit their system or just a rebadge of the Toyota , which is no issue really I suppose ....given Suzuki are usually far cheaper than Toyota....winner really.

Hopefully the utility version of the G4 will still be true to the Jimny ethos, kiss.
These complex SUV car hybrids just leave my stone cold, the all look the same and actually are in some cases !
