Jumping out of low range

Thought I'd get out and get some fresh air when I finished work. So I went and had a play with the Jimny on some off road sections on the farm.

This is only the 2nd time taking it off road. However this time, it kept jumping out of low while being driven. Think it did it to me 5 times in 25 mins. Usually when having a slight bit of power on.

The result was a loud beep and lack of drive.

Anyone else experienced similar in the JB74?

Not sure it was user error, but happy to be corrected if it was. The lever felt solidly locked in place each time.

Not teaching you to suck eggs (old saying) BUT.
Stationary, neutral, press clutch, move lever back from 2 to 4, press lever down & back again (hear clunk) that should be 4 low. Put your foot down on the flat then on an incline if it jumps out of gear its a trip to the dealers.

I'd agree if it's properly engaged and then jumps out repeatedly it's off to the dealer. It could just be a linkage out of spec or it could be an internal issue either way it's what warranty is for.

My auto jumped out the first couple of times I tried it, I found that it feels fully in, and the indication is that it is in, but it isn't. Putting it in when in neutral with engine running so that the 'box is turning, rather than park( - when it is locked up ) seems to work though, as I thought it might have to go back.

For a manual that would mean keeping the pressure on the lever as you gently take up the drive the first time.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)
