Hi, this is my first post. I've being trying to find info regarding a vvt conversion to a non vvt. My Jimny is a 2002 m13a non vvt, I've been offerdd a m16 from a Swift sport. Has anyone successfully carried out this particular conversion? Im presuming I will need to fit looms from a vvt Jimny to make this work.

This thread is worth a read. It's a long while ago but I believe there are some issues getting the higher compression swift sport engine to run on a standard Jimny ECU. As far as VVT bit goes, your ECU and loom are different but a 1.3vvt engine will run fine on a non-vvt loom and ecu , just without the VVT fucntioning. A better option that swapping loom, ECU and immobiliser parts (coded to the ECU) might be to get someone to make up a VVT controller that works alongside the non-vvt ECU. Or fit a non-VVT 1.6 and get most of the power with a lot less work. Or go standalone ECU.

Its hard to find a 1.6 non vvt liana in Ireland. I think I might just go down the route of swapping the looms ecu and immobiliser bits. They will be easier to locate. Thanks for the reply. What sort of aftermarket ecu is available for a jimny? Im presuming a megasquirt.
