Is there any particular year that is considered better that others and some that are worse & to be avoided ?
I'm thinking about a 2005 & later axle swap into my 1998 Jimny so I can get that all importanf 4.6% reduction from 4.11:1 to 4.30:1.
I don't want to go the rock lobster route. I'd rater fit a Samurai Transfer case.
I realise the later axles have ABS, but that's just blanked off, right ?
I have an ARB in an early diff, will that swap over to a later 2005+ diff ?

Looking for a nice clean and straight LHD Jimny..... Not any more.
Got one that seems to have been magnatized and driven through the "Big Jimny Bits" parts stores too quickly so it missed a few items.

you should be able to fit the 4.3 diff's into the earlier axle casings (loads easier than swapping the full thing). A bit of grinding to the casing might be needed on the front to allow the crown wheel in, but nothing major.

The ARB diff in the rear should swap over easily enough, if its a front then maybe not.

Its worth noting that both front and rear diffs must be swapped for it to work (would kill the transfer box if they were different).
