Recovery gear kits. was created by Andy2640
Any recomendations for recovery gear?

Looking for a good quality kit which will be safe to use, will last for life and does not cost as much as ARB products.

Kit would ideally have a extention strap, pulley, a few d rings, tree saver and some safety line blankets.

Thanks guys!

There are a couple of obvious ways to do this, but a complete kit I a bag from one of the 4x4 shops or build up a kit of your own with separate pieces sourced over time. Personally I would go for the latter one and get better quality items individually as they become necessary. Go out with your mates and get stuck and see what they use to extract you and buy your own then next time you can return the favour.

I bought mine piecemeal but I bought from reputable retailers like Devon 4x4 and some Winch specialists.

You don't want to buy something to find it's not very good by it breaking and s shackle flying through your windscreen.

Rated shackles and tree straps are expensive but necessary.

You won't be disappointed with damar webbing. They also do rated shackles and all sorts. British made and resold by many. Arb only really makes sense in Australia where it comes from as its expensive by the time it comes here.

I'll take a gander at the damar products then, nice1.

Good old British made makes me smile.

Ive been looking at a portable winch, from a company called dragon winches.

www.dragonwinch.co.uk/catalogue/detail.a...13&pg=Wt4hGobdxRI%3d

Rated at 2.3 ton. Videos of it look good, but wanted to run it past you lot.

I have something very similar and it's only really any good for tensioning wire fencing. I'd sooner use a high lift Jack with the winch attachment or a tirfir for a stuck vehicle.

You are welcome. It's pointless having experience if you don't share it.
