I have started to build a roof cargo frame with Tool boxes for my -05 Jimny.

I have so far equipped it with fire extinguisher, shovel, backup camera, mini compressor, led ramp, led working lights.

I have ordered a fusebox and a remote controlled relaycard with 6 channels to install in the rear box.
In that way I van controll the six working lights individually.

There is alot of work left.
I have to manufacture four mounts and weld them to the frame so that they fit the factory bolts for the rails wich i am removing.

And maybe powder coat the frame.

That's cool. Just be aware that the roof load even without the factory rails is only 30kg, a parameter that the insurance company will take full advantage of to void a claim.

Sorry I need to put the alternative view just for balance (it's been discussed many time without resolution).
The rating of 30KG is for the factory roof rails, no other loading rating is given other than the total vehicle weight. That's how it is printed in the GEN3 user manual. Aftermarket roof systems will have their own ratings.
At best we can state that the roof loading instructions from Suzuki are not clear and open to personal interpretation. But yes you still need to let your insurance know it's fitted as it's a fixed modification. Nice item and looks good.

It wouldn't be me you have to justify it to it's the insurance who would be difficult.

Nice roof rack! Looks mint. Sadly the stupid roof load limit debate always creeps into these topics.

I recently got this one:
File Attachment:

I'll be taking some inspiration from yours for when I start to think about the space at the front where I can put things (storage boxes and other bits n bobs). The back bit is for a tent and is a bit wider so I can fold it out over the back door area.
