With a few carefully chosen accessories you Jimny could look like this!
Simca Matra Rancho - circa 1982

They also did the Bagheera S, looked like a Lotus esprit, and was famous for having 3 seats abreast. They were made of plastic, except for the chassis that corroded PDQ, and IIRC, the chassis was bonded to the body somehow, so it was virtually impossible to weld it. Haven't seen one running around for 30 years, there were several about near me in the 80s.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Loved those as a kid, used to be one around the corner from my parents. Most of the ones I've seen seem to have been converted for wheelchair use, presumably because of the available height inside. Haven't spotted one in the wild for years though.

I realise now why I posted this. Andy has been showing us pctures of substantial and rugged roof racks. In my minds eye they reminded me of the Rancho. I can see little or no resemblance now, the mind is a funny place. Love the comment about this thing being glued together, how very eighties.

You can see where Land Rover got their styling ideas for the original Discovery from.
