Jimny is half the weight & nigh on half the size of a 110. Surprised that they are both on the same list for comparison.....

Drove plenty of 110's and without doubt, the Jimny is a better road car.

Off road there is little comparison... totally different beasts. The Jimny will do plenty that the 110 can't do and vice-versa. As a green lane driver the Jimny wins hands down for me, have found nothing in the Lakes or Peaks that my modestly lifted Jimny can't do.

The footprint of the Jimny is not just smaller but lighter and greener, there are some very heavily modified Jimny's in the group I lane with and even they are lightweights when compared to a 110. Let alone a modified one.....

Tread lightly is a motto of the cause I believe.

I fairly recently came into Jimny ownership from a Defender 90 TD5 (2000 model) & have been pleasantly surprised.
I loved my Defender but for my personal needs the Jimny is proving to be a much better all round vehicle.
As others have said the driving position is much better, it’s quieter, more civilised on the road & I am certainly looking forward to not having to scrape the ice off the inside of the windows. The wipers are rubbish on the Defender as well.
Despite being fairly basic, the Jimny has still got ‘luxuries’ like electric windows & mirrors as well as central locking which the Defender didn’t have.
To make up for the lack of space in the back I have removed the rear seats as I didn’t need them.
It was the amount of expensive welding work needed on the Defender (including rear cross member) that persuaded me to sell. I do have a bit of sellers remorse & would have kept it if I had somewhere to store it until I could afford the work.
I will miss the waves from other Defender drivers though.
