Hi everyone,

Popped down to my dealer this afternoon to sort out the collection of my new Chiffon Ivory SZ5. I have been shown a sales news bulletin and told after all the Q2 cars have been delivered there will be an increase of £500 on both SZ4 and SZ5 models. This is just an informational post to let everyone know.

Thanks,
Joe.

Typical, looks like I will have to stump up the extra cash or get my deposit back.

Depends if you have a contract against a car and if it can be registered before the end of july otherwise its an increase.

I have customers who have orders in place for the next batch and I will have to give them the good news of a price increase on a car which I cant get anyway oh the joys.

Will the £500 increase mean they are better specc'd- and come with the missing temperature gauge & rear view camera?

Australia get the camera as standard. (And a nice olive green colour choice...)

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

No. It just includes extra profits for Suzuki on the back of a supply that can't get close to the level of demand!

Yes I am that cynical.

Nothing from Suzuki UK about price rise so hope its not true, nothing about other models costing more, i wonder how many canceled orders will come from this ?, but i think Lambert is spot on with his words.

To be fair, the £:¥ exchange rate has moved against Suzuki over the past 12 months so I guess they have to correct for that.

I collected my much awaited Grello SZ5 today. The dealer confirmed that the £500 rise was definitely happening and was in place from 1st July. I think it was for any car NOT already here...... so if my car had not arrived until August I would be faced with the £500 higher cost even though I had already placed a deposit. The dealer said basically Suzuki know that putting the price up will not effect sales due to the demand. I feel sorry for those still waiting. I think that if you have a deposit down then they should honour the price at the point you handed over the money. Shocking but not surprised.

To be fair, my Dealership did tell me, at the time of my leaving a deposit, (and being told of a eight to twelve month wait), that I would be liable for any price increases.

I am still bemused that, within six weeks, I drove out of the showroom in my Yellow Peril.

I took a sneaky photo of the sales bulletin for those who like squinting at tiny writing.

Yes the pound has slid down against the Yen since the UK price was announced. But maybe Suzuki do some currency hedging as £500 increase doesn’t seem enough to offset the fall in the pound.
