Simply enter the country first "United Kingdom"

Then where it says post code type the name of the town or hamlet (If I pick the nearest large town/city it won't find my tidly little street out in the sticks)
Then you can type the street name
Then you can type the number.

(Actually, I googled the other boys who have been saddled with this expensive piece of junk before, it is the same for Lexus, Toyota, Nissan and I believe Audi)

I'm currently working on adding speed cameras, I can add them as POIs alright, I need to wait for some dry weather* to go for a drive to check if I've got the warnings to work properly, and I can't get custom icons to appear from BMPs either, not in 22x22 or 24x24.

More concerning to me is when I wear my polaroids, the display shows what looks like some sort of stress, I predict a failure fairly soon.

The Connect doesn't show those rainbows, quite annoying when driving along.

* it is not going out on a wet road until I have got the dinitrol applied.

Is that not just an effect of polorized lenses on certain screen types?

No, the "fault" still has to be there to be seen. The filter/lense makes it more pronounced.

I have got it to play videos!

It doesn't believe in mkv files, but will play h264 encoded .mp4 files, I played a 1920x1080 @ 2000kbs. I suspect the screen is 320 x 240 though, maybe as high as 640 x 480, but I cant tell.

Eventually I figured out that if you touch the video part of the screen once whilst it is playing all the overlays go away.

It won't play .ass subs with the same name as the video file though. Probably the only way is to burn hardsubs into the video and rencode it to 640x480. Time to fire up all2avi again, haven't used it since win xp...

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

My CRT Screen that gave me all the agro was a 1200 line Hitachi HD! (very expensive for its time)
I was trying to find the photos of the screen defects to show you but I must have deleted them some years back.
They gave me a new monitor for free and to keep the crook one, so I had the degauss cct fixed and for many years used it for HD-TV!

Now I use a 24" BEN-Q 1920x1080 LED/LCD for both PC and TV.
My glasses are now all plain glass by Zeiss, no more plastic lenses!

As regards the rainbows, when I get around to fitting the camera, the head unit has to come out, I'll have a look at flicking off the bezel and seeing if there is some sort of fixing to "adjust" and get rid of them.

I only wear the polaroids when the sun is shining, so it won't be a problem again this month as far as the weather forecast goes ;)

By George, I think he's got it!
My Sat/Nav doesn't know where it is!
No wonder the little circle keeps going round and round!

It is only "United Kingdom" for some of us George ;)

I was actually pointing out that we can't enter "England" etc...

Your unit has likely gone the same way as the one in my Nissan. That has lost all sensitivity from the GPS receiver, and it won't admit there are any satellites about. However, I fixed it with a magnetic GPS Ariel, I open the window and stick it to the roof over my head if I need the SatNav.

The Bosch unit is well known for flaking out in the heat, which is why they fit them where they get maximum exposure to heat from the windows and in the NIssan, the heater outlets as well. I expect it just needs a bit of reflowing around the boards like all those PS4s and Xboxes they fix on youtube.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

The digitiser that provides the touch-screen element is a flexible layer with overlaid grids, that's all you're seeing. Nothing is stressed.

Yep, polarised glasses do that to lot's a screens including mobiles. Nothing wrong, but a pain nonetheless.

I have a magnetic GPS antenna on mine, I have just stuck it to the inside of the roof behind the interior light. Works perfectly.
