Well, the most surreal and beatiful moment happened last week.

I'm doing some company training in leamington on Tuesdays. I was aware that there was another blue SZ5 in the area, as when i picked mine up from the dealers, there was a thank you card on the salesmans desk from an older couple, thanking the dealership for getting them a blue auto. The card was very well thought out, had a picture of the couple standing next to their new pride and joy.

Anyway.... as im waiting at the traffic lights, this blue jimny turned the corner and proceeded to drive past me very slowly. I waived excitedly, they then waived back, with huge grins on their faces, they were clearly very passionate and excited to have seen me. I cant think of any other car where this would happen, it was a special little moment, and it made things very clear to me..... the jimny club, and the people that drive em, love em to bits.

The end....

It's good isn't it? The only other vehicle is the defender who wave at each other as regularly as possible. I and others keep pushing the idea of the Jimny wave a d I acknowledge every other one I see, often to some very odd looks. The more we keep doing it the bigger it will become!

It is a great thing. Can you demonstrate the jimny wave for us lord lambert? :) :) :cheer:

I would be more than willing to initially look a little silly for the "greater jimny good".

I have only seen another two. One parked up, and no sign of the driver.

The other, passing in the opposite direction, probably doing 50+ mph., as was I, meant that we had little time to wave, but we managed. A raised right hand, palm out.

Steve.

Hahahaa ...... Its these little things that make my day. Was in a dull mood that day until that happened.

From now on, im going to really give it some when i see another jimny. Just waiting on the official wave instruction from Lambert now.

Be great when we all meet up, that will be very cool.

Very subtle my lord. I like it. But how about the left hand in jazz pose?

Can't believe I've still not seen another one on the road since getting mine in January. I've done 2500 miles in one of the most densely populated areas of the country and not one!

I'll be giving it the full two-hander-wave before crashing into a hedge when I do eventually see another Gen4. :woohoo:

Other cars I've driven that do 'the wave' are series Landys and Citroen 2CVs.

I was going to add the Mini. My first car was a new 1986 Mini Mayfair (in Black). Used to wave at every other Mini on the road, and that is when they were still a very common sight, most waved back as well or flashed!
