I took delivery of the Deflectors OctaneJimny posted at the beginning of this thread. I have added pictures and small review on page 8 of my thread (link in my signature). Thought it best not to double post?

Great stuff. I'm hoping to do a similar post once mine are fitted to a Chiffon Ivory SZ5. Would be a nice comparison compared to your black'un.

Condensation is a Jimny "feature" in the UK, particularly in the rain. Despite air conditioning having a de- humidifier effect the most effective way to clear the corner of the windscreen and front corner of the driver's door window is to crack the window open a couple of cm. A wind deflector then stops you getting wet.

Oh and it's an "older" thing, not young. From an age when cars had quarterlight windows and when more people smoked.

This raises issues for me with Lo-vision.
Why would you open the window when the Car has Climate Control?
The Wind Deflector adds to the "A" pillar obstruction and when scanning the side-front-side visual field, some add distortion.
I know its a younger age and different culture where you guys are located, but I'm not convinced its a practical addition.

For me personally, I prefer to have the window open for fresh air. The exception being, when on the motorway when having the window open creates too much noise and buffeting or when the pollen count is high. In those circumstances I will use the climate control. Plus in the past I have found if you use the aircon to help de-mist the windows then they steam back up quicker when it is turned off.

Im in the prefer fresh air category myself. Also I use them because I'm one of those weirdos that goes camping in mine so I like to leave the windows down a crack to get a bit of air through whilst I'm sleeping. Don't think the neighbours would like it if I was sat running the engine all night with my climate control on full blast.

I'm confused? Perth is a very hot place. You're wanting to insulate more heat into the engine bay? Isn't that going to give the cooling system a headache?

Hi All,

An update on my wind deflector situation. After owning the Farad wind deflectors since receiving my car in June I've had them a good few months now and done nearly 5000 miles. They have been great while camping in the car with the window slightly open and keeping the rain out but I must add thay they have been a bit rattly and the near side one at the rear has kept dropping down at rear no matter how many times I reposition the metel clips that hold them in. I had a sudden brave wave and. Though had Team Heko released any yet as I had them on my ignis previously and they were faultless. Unfortunately they were not available when I got my gen4. Straight away after fitting the Team Heko ones I could tell a massive difference in quality, thicker plastic, darker tint and they are squared off rather than rounded which look better on the Jimnys sqaure body. They fit absolutely perfectly. No rattling, no slipping down.

Review
Farad- work well enough but are basically crap 5/10
Team Heko- would highly recommend 9.5/10

Links below if anyone is interested in there own.

Thanks guys.
