I'm probably getting my terms mixed up. I mean a simple socket wrench. I...just put it in reverse. It gives a bit more leverage, especially for people with arthritis etc. I see nowt wrong in that, ive used em on stuborn bolts loads. Works a treat

I never told him to put it in reverse. You asked about that.
And who cares lol, no offfense, this is a little tedious. I have a wrench, it clicks tight one way, and switch the lever and it undoes bolts. Simples.

Thank You Lambert, what an excellent suggestion!Lambert wrote: I got my dad a little 1/2 inch makita battery impact wrench as he has difficulty with his hands and arm strength. It's the smallest 18v one they do but it will just about knock a wheel off. He uses it with all manner of adapters to do things he hasn't been able to for years previously. He swears by it round the house.
However, (don't you just hate those) at over $300 local dollars, Its one for the wish list.
Maybe its time for Suzuki's Free Roadside Assistance they gave me last week!
I don't know what the exchange rate is but HOW MUCH! The one I got dad didn't set me back a hundred quid. Although I suppose if you needed batteries? There's other alternative options than Makita that don't command the premium and are perfectly serviceable for a bit of DIY work.
