I have always thought that Suzuki is a bit behind the times with their warranties in the UK with 3 years, however I have noticed that Suzuki Australia offers 5 years if you opt for dealer servicing plan.

"Suzuki has extended its warranty coverage to five years or 140,000km but that's conditional on maintaining capped-price dealer servicing. Otherwise the coverage remains at three years."

That's a company that is confident in the quality of its product.

KIA set the standard for quality products that don't fail after 3 years but the motorcycle industry struggles to back their products after 24 months

I read today that the service interval in Australia is only 10,000km.

6 months 10,000km Suzuki servicing is required to maintain the 5 year warranty in Aus, but every 3 months is recommended for more severe use. forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2710846
I'm no expert but we don't get a 5 year warranty without paying for it one way or another. Could be higher RRP, or higher cost/more frequent servicing.
One legal consideration in Aus is that a regular warranty must be honoured whoever you get to service your car, but to get the extension from 3 to 5 years Suzuki are allowed to require Suzuki servicing from day 1. tbh I'm surprised more manufacturers don't do this.

I would think that its a bit of revenue generator for Suzuki by making you buy in to a 5 year service plan, it sounds like a great idea to me :)
