Hi All - Am new to the site and collecting my first Jimny 2004 JLX on Friday.
As a Silver surfer I am buying as an early retirement present to myself to use when Fly fishing the Caithness and Sutherland lochs. Some of these are classed as Wild Fishing due to access across the flowland where access is several miles of muddy or forest track.
My Rav 4 is too low to the ground and the side steps catch on the rashes.
So to my first question - not sure regarding the best set up from the standard but am considering a set of Grabber AT3 tyres 205/75r15 on the existing 3 spoke alloy or would I be better putting them on to new standard steel rims 15" 7J and because of ruts in some of the softer tracks get them with either a -15 or -30 offset to match better the track width that I will follow
Not planning to go too hard off road at this stage so looking for your suggestions as to a moderate starting point.
Thanks for any help given

I personally would go for 195/80/15's hankook RF10 or Kumho KL71
and just stick with the standard 3 spoke wheels
this is just my opinion

Welcome along.
I would stick with the standard wheels but maybe go up to 215/75/15, which is the biggest you can go without a lift and with standard gearing. Otherwise 195/80/15 Is the next best size.
Personally I would go with a tame mud terrain, such as BFG's, Kumho KL71's or similar. The day will come when your At's are not enough and that day will be wet and cold and windy!
