Heres a couple of vids of the Kielder safari. Its mostly pretty easy stuff with good views (weather permitting). This time of year there will be some snow maybe, but not horrendous as they cater for standard vehicles on the routes.

Its best not to go laning alone as mentioned, especially if unsure of what the lane will be like. GLASS tours are great, but the cumbria GLASS lot dont seem to advertise any. Northumberland rep Darren Clark runs regular newbie tours that are great (and a bit more challenging than the Kielder safari, but still fairly local). I tend to ignore the politics side of the GLASS lot. The membership fee is worth it for Trailwise2 access alone :-)

If you want a run around NW Cumbria I dont mind meeting up and showing you a few routes ;-)

Just seen a Facebook post from the Kielder safari group and there's a 15 plate jimny hiding in there, that you?

Good day for it, even if no snow about.
