First thing I did was change the tyres, in SA they come out with Dunlop Grandtrek tyres which are horrible on even dry tar, I didn't even want to try them on a wet road. I put on my trusty Firestone Destination A/T's in 215/80R15, which is the biggest that will fit without lifting or trimming. I also changed the wheels to my old SJ's rims
The extra power of the 1500 is really nice, and the Auto is very driveable, even able to maintain 120kph on very steep highway hills. The transmission does tend to hunt though, but there is a very convenient O/D off button on the side of the shift lever (same as the swift). High speed (120kph+) handling is not great. and I had a very scary wobble at 150kph.
Off-road it is a pleasure. The auto with traction control can crawl up stuff way slower than I could with my old one. The traction control is not as responsive as I would like and is tuned for around 1500rpm.

I'm waiting for my coils and shocks to arrive, then it will get a 50mm lift. I still have to work out how to relocate the headlight leveler.

Or it could be a traction control issue, I see that the press came across an issue on a specific road surface when testing in the USA

Was that the one where the collision avoidance system was being confused by the crash barriers at the side of the road?

Yeah, with Admiral. I happen to already have a multi-car policy with them, so that was kind of fortunate. Comparison sites are only bringing up quotes with Admiral, Bell, Diamond and Elephant.Bill Portland wrote:
Have you got your insurance sorted Mikey? If so, who with?mikeyw85 wrote: I pick mine up this Thursday apparently. It's an SZ4 in silver. I have driven an SZ5 already, which was enjoyable. The car has such character for a 'modern' vehicle.
I will try get some thoughts and photos on here, as well as answering any other questions.

yeh, i got a quote from admiral in the meantime. Only a bit less than my range rover sport (on a 3 car and home insurance policy) which is worth more, would cost a darn sight more for any repairs, and would do an awful lot more damage to anyone else! The market needs a bit more competition methinks.

In the middle east our options are pretty limited. I wish next patch gets better or close to euro/uk specs.
It does have halogen lights and regular key. No collision protection or a screen. I installed sand tires and kenwood vfh system for offroading.
Ordered FUJITSUBO exhaust from Japan and different stuff offered by suzuki as genuine accessories. Also bought a 9 inch screen with tyre monitoring and reverse camera. Will keep you guys posted on how everything turns out.
The JB73W is a great suv around town and offroad capable. On my bucketlist is to upgrade to LED front lights (From Japanresult) and get a turbo kit.
I suggest having a new thread with people to share there mods on the JB74/64. Attached the photos.
