Found the tests below for dtc061, number 3 gives 0.5 ohms not open circuit.

Had a look at that page in the manual, number 3 is basically Suzuki manual speak for 'I dont know'!

Looking at the schematic, you are basically testing for resistance between the positive side of the motor (A23) and earth (which is connected to A22). In effect you are measuring the resistance of the pump motor, an electric motor. The motors resistance will change depending on its position.

The code is stating the motor has failed. So if you power it up it wont work, right? With the control unit disconnected why not carefully connect an earth wire to A22 terminal and a live to A23? If the motor operates you know the fault is with the ABS controller connection at the control unit. If the motor doesnt work try giving it a firm whack with a big screwdriver handle a few times then try it again.

Please do not treat the manual as set in stone. Workshop manuals are generally written by non mechanics to repair faults that havent actually happened in the real world.

Just for arguments sake, lets assume the problem is with the terminal in the plug at A23. If you replace the ABS control unit, the fault is still going to be there but you wont find out until you have messed about fitting the unit, bled the brakes and cleared the codes!

Tell me about it!
As an aircraft engineer, I firmly believe we are only there to find all the mistakes in the manuals as well as fix the dreadful design-faults

Hi
I have just given the motor a tap and then I was able to reset the abs code and extinguish the warning light. I drove the car about 2 miles with the light off, however it did come back on with the same code.
I removed the control unit and ran earth/12v to the 2 exposed motor pins and the motor turned ?
Only got continuity through pump pin 22 of the control unit to the female terminal that meets the pump male connection, no continuity between the terminal 23 and the other female.
Again I tried to reset the code but it only worked after tapping the motor?
Also is it possible to remove the motor (just 2 screws) without disturbing the brake fluid ?

?

Hi
If I remove the motor from the abs unit will I loose the brake fluid or is the valve unit sealed from the motor as it is from the module ?
