Hi all,

Hoping for a little advice please. My mate is looking at a Jimny locally to us. 02 plate, soft top, 115k miles, insa turbo mt’s, pro comp suspension, snorkel etc. I’ve driven it and actually drives really well but I spotted 2 issues.

1. The king pin (swivel joints or whatever they are called) were very heavily greased. I think they’re £50 a side on here plus labour

2. More worryingly there is an oil leak. At first glance it looks like the sump gasket (which I’m guessing is a cheap easy fix) but then I got worried it’s that crank seal (if that’s what its called - between engine and gbox). Are Jimnys known for either of these issues? If it is a crank seal (or whatever it’s called) how big a job is it for a local Indy?

It’s up for £1600 at a local garage but my mate has him close to £900 at the moment

You wealth of experience appreciated

Cheers
Mark
