Leisure battery was created by Alex-Jimny
Hello all.
I've just bought a Jimmy and i'll be using it to to camping and working, i would like to add a leisure battery but I'm not sure of the best place to put it.
Has anyone else done this, or any ideas as to where i can put it.
Thank you.

A bit more info would help. How do you want to use the battery, through towbar electrics?
Do you want the battery to power a tent?
Just trying to establish if you need a built in system or portable will do ?

For an older jimny without abs there is plenty of room to get a 2nd battery on the nearside of the engine compartment.
Many do this to power a winch.

I just used a Jimny Bits battery tray and one big battery but it might suit your needs to keep the original for starting duties and add a leisure battery on a Jimny Bits battery tray with a split charger.
You'd need them split properly like this rather than joined with an isolator for when in use for camping as different sized batteries joined together kills the smaller battery in time.
I think Martin has a split charger?

Hello again.
Just another question about adding a leisure battery, do i have to move the windscreen washer bottle to make it fit? And how easy is it to fit the tray?
Cheers.

Yes, the Jimny Bits Battery tray comes with big cable ties to attach the washer bottle to it from memory.
It's a simple bolt on thing.
